Type K thermocouples on the GSV-8 measuring amplifier (en)
Is a reference measuring point required for connecting type K thermocouples to the GSV-8?
The GSV-8 measuring amplifier does not have an integrated reference junction for thermocouples. Channel 8 of the amplifier is intended for configuration as a reference junction with a PT1000 sensor. This reference junction is required to perform an absolute temperature measurement using a thermocouple. Otherwise, the temperature difference between the GSV-8 connector and the thermocouple's contact point is measured.
However, you can omit the PT1000 connection on channel 8 and connect a thermocouple there instead.
The differential temperature will then be displayed.
