Where are the sense lines connected

Connection of sensors with measuring amplifiers

Sensors with sense wires

If the measuring amplifier has only 4 wires for the sensor, you can

  • leave the the sense wires unconnected,
  • connect the sense wires in parallel with the excitation wires.

The parallel connection of sense wires and excitation wires is better, because

  • The line resistance for excitation wires is reduced,
  • The  interference immunity is increased (no open lines).

Sensors without sense wires

If the measuring amplifier has a sense wire input, you must install a connection  between

  • positive excitation and positive sense wire and
  • negative excitation and negative sense wire.

For all measuring amplifiers "GSV" of ME-Meßsysteme GmbH, the connection may be omitted, since internallya high-resistance connection is already given.
